Despite your best efforts, sometimes a tooth will need to be extracted, or pulled. Extractions can be needed for tooth trauma, overcrowding, infection, decay or gum disease. Affordable Dental can take care of any needed extractions in-office and offers several anesthetic and sedation options for your comfort during the procedure.
Laughing gas, or nitrous oxide, is the most well-known and common form of sedation. The gas is inhaled through the nose and has a relaxing effect on the patient. You’ll be fully awake yet fully relaxed during the entire procedure. Nitrous oxide and its effect wear off quickly so you won’t need to have someone drive you home from your dental appointment.
For our more anxious or nervous patients, we offer several more sedations options including a prescription oral medication taken prior to your appointment. The effects last much longer and you will need to have someone drive you to and from your appointment and plan to have them stay with you for several hours following your procedure.
